What happens after the admissions process?

How is the admission procedure evaluated?

Each part of the admission process is evaluated individually. Your overall result will determine whether you will be accepted as a student.

Your graduation certificate, the form of your application and any professional experience you may have already counted as well. They can give you a little extra plus in the overall rating.

Are you accepted or not?

After the admission process, you will find out here whether you have been accepted. Look for your applicant ID in the list.

In addition, you will always receive a letter by email. This applies to all application dates.

I was accepted. What's next?

Congratulations on your study place! With the written notification of your admission, we will also inform you what you need to consider before enrolling as a student at our university.

New in town? Use the time until the start of your studies to find out about housing options and campus life at the location in good time. You can find more details on the Graz, Kapfenberg and Bad Gleichenberg campuses.

I have received a letter of evidence. What does that mean?

Courses that offer additional dates for the admissions process cannot currently allocate places on the waiting list, as the order can still change due to an additional date. You have therefore received a letter of evidence and will be informed in writing after the next appointment whether you will be able to study or not.

I'm on the waiting list. What does that mean?

Those applicants who narrowly missed acceptance are placed in the waiting list. Applicants will be informed of their position on the waiting list. If you are among them, you still have a chance: If an admitted person does not take his or her place at university, it will be reassigned. The candidates from the waiting list move up.

Please be patient when you are on the waiting list. If a study place becomes available, you will be informed immediately by telephone. This can be the case until the end of the first week of study.

I was not accepted. What can I do now?

You were not accepted. There is no reason to doubt yourself. Take your time and think carefully about your options.

Would you like to apply again for the same degree?

Try it! There are some students who were only accepted on their second attempt. Often it is they who approach their studies with particular motivation and commitment. Because they know exactly what they want. A new application is welcome and you do not have any disadvantage.

Are there any other fields of study that interest you?

Think again about whether the chosen course really suits you. Perhaps you are in much better hands in another subject area. Find out about the courses offered by other institutes and dare to think outside the box.

Most courses allow you to go through the admissions process in summer or autumn. In this case, you have the option of changing your application to another course that offers a later date for the admission procedure. If you change your application, please send an email with your new study request to [email protected]
