What is an agency
The term agency generally refers to many different types of institutions and organizations. It is characteristic that an agency pursues the goals and special interests of a group and in this sense represents its active members. In addition, the term also subsumes companies that represent the interests of certain groups of people. This also includes federal or European Union authorities.
Companies in many different industries call themselves agencies. From news agencies to PR agencies to model agencies, these are very different types of companies that differ in their way of working and target group.
In many cases, agencies offer special services that can either be tailored to a very specific target group (such as a model agency) or be relevant for companies and interested parties from different industries (such as a PR agency).
