Photo: © Martin Funck "The right to freely determine one's own genitals is a human right" - this shared demand was made on October 29, 2019 as part of the campaign "My body - intact and self-determined" by representatives of the campaign organizations Project 100% MENSCH , MOGiS e. V. and TERRE DES FEMMES together with hostess Seyran Ateş, founder of the liberal Ibn Rushd Goethe Mosque, presented to the public on the podium of the same name and discussed the content. What they all had in common was to initiate a positive social exchange about genital mutilation of girls, boys and intersex children from their specific perspectives of professional work and to provide information on the topic. The very different social convictions behind the practices should also be clarified so that they can be questioned and ultimately overcome. It was originally planned that Lala Süsskind, chairwoman of the Jewish Forum for Democracy and Against Anti-Semitism e. V., which unfortunately could not attend at short notice due to a different date postponement. The diverse panel and, last but not least, the extraordinary location of the discussion made the exchange a unique event for the guests as well.
