Isaac or The Discovery of Spacetime

The artificial intelligence Isaac has one goal: to understand the laws of space and time. This book tells the adventure of Isaac and his human companion San on their journey through the solar system. In his spaceship, Isaac explores black holes and time travel, measures gravitational waves and tries to understand the physics of wormholes. San helps him ask the right questions and focus on the essentials.

In the dialogue between the two different interlocutors, the reader can follow the discovery of Newton's laws up to Einstein's theory of relativity. Every conversation between Isaac and San is accompanied by a section in which the author clearly describes the physical background to Isaac's discoveries.

Martin Bäker studied physics and did his doctorate in elementary particle physics. Since 1996 he has been teaching and researching the mechanics of modern materials at the TU Braunschweig. He is the author of the science blog This is where dragons live, likes physics and dinosaurs.
