Remove glue with tools

You can often just use your hands to remove any glue residue. You can also use tools to tackle the adhesive, for example with a scraper. It doesn't matter whether it's made of plastic or metal. A razor blade is also suitable for removing adhesive residue. Be careful with all of these methods, however: after all, you don't want to injure yourself, scratch or damage the bonded surface.


Loosen the adhesive with various adhesive removers

Some people prefer to use an adhesive remover instead of a tool. But which one is the right one? When choosing, you should consider which material you want to process with it. For example, when removing glue residue from the wall, you have to be careful. Otherwise you could damage the wallpaper. The adhesive to be removed also plays a role: some are more difficult to remove than others.

You don't always have to swing the chemistry club. If you want to remove glue residue, you can also use home remedies. Did you know that ordinary oil can act as an adhesive remover? Just try it out: apply the oil to the stain, leave it on for about an hour and then wipe it off with a damp cloth. Maybe that's enough to remove the glue residue.

For more stubborn stains, you can use alcohol, for example, vodka. You should also let it work for about an hour so that the glue can loosen. Then the same applies here: Wipe away the remains with a damp cloth.

Remove glue residue with heat

Do you want to remove the label from an empty wine bottle? The glue underneath is best loosened with heat. Try a blow dryer. Alternatively, you can heat the bottle in the oven at a low temperature (approx. 50 ° C). Be careful: glass does not tolerate large temperature fluctuations. Therefore, never put glass bottles and the like in the oven that has already been preheated.
