Artificial wood was created by humans

The control of the emission of toxins

The formaldehyde
Chipboard panels contain urea glue, a substance that gives off formaldehyde even after years. Even if formaldehyde is now known to be suspected of being carcinogenic, in contrast to Germany there are still no laws in Italy that regulate the release through limit standards. At Valcucine, the specified values of the Japanese standard are strictly adhered to for the entire production (Japanese regulations F ****).

The artificial radioactivity
Environmental disasters such as Chernobyl created an artificial radioactivity that was absorbed by the plants (including wood) and released into the environment years later. Since the amount of toxins present varies depending on the origin of the wood, Valcucine carries out analyzes on sample samples to make sure that the wood used in the kitchens does not come from areas contaminated by Chernobyl.

The synthetic paints
Furniture treated with synthetic varnishes continues to emit volatile, toxic substances into the air in our homes long after they have been purchased. Valcucine has examined the air pollution caused by these substances with special analyzes. In the table we show the amount and quality of volatile, organic substances on 1 square meter of surface that has been painted with a synthetic acrylic varnish. In order to drastically limit or avoid the release of toxic substances from synthetic solvents, Valcucine has developed a painting cycle using water as the solvent, as well as a surface treatment based on natural oils and waxes, the solvent of which is obtained from the peel of citrus fruits.

Water-based paint
One of the worst pollution problems facing the furniture industry is the evaporation of synthetic solvents in paints. A medium-sized furniture factory emits tons of potentially carcinogenic solvents every day and pollutes the immediate work environment as well as the surrounding areas. These solvents show micro-evaporation even after a long time, so the room in which the piece of furniture was placed is also affected by this contamination. For the benefit of the end user, furniture workers and localities near the factories, after years of testing and constant research, Valcucine has developed a cycle of water-based lacquering for solid wood and fronts or panels with wood veneer, thus using synthetic Solvent drastically reduced. Due to its great innovative strength, Valcucine has always found new ways, which were then copied by the competition, which in principle is a nuisance. In this case, however, we would even like us to be imitated, because we are aware that in this way we have made a great contribution to the preservation of the environment and human health.
