Real stores with free Shopify themes
While Shopify is an ecommerce store designer, it is also believed that some developers will continue to use it to make one for customers, and that's a nice thing to remember. Signing up requires a little more detail than I'm used to, but I think it is helpful for an online store to collect a lot of this information in advance.
There are a few free themes available, but similar to BigCommerce, there are quite a few high quality (expensive) themes out there and you can even create and upload your own. However, the focus is still on sales. In my opinion, Shopify has done extremely well here. Shopify is well integrated with third party providers such as various online tool providers
If you're a seller, you know that offering your customers multiple payment options is a good thing. Shopify offers many payment options like credit cards (through multiple gateways), PayPal, and even BitCoin! There are also the more traditional options like bank transfers or cash on delivery if that's what you're interested in. What is unique is that there are Shopify payments that can be fully integrated into your store. That way, everything goes through Shopify without the need for gateways or anything else.
They're also future-proof in the sense that Shopify includes a built-in mobile ecommerce shopping cart. This way, your prospects can shop and pay in your store right from their mobile devices.

4. Great website performance
Most of us don't want to wait in line for more than 15 minutes when shopping (unless we have to). Likewise, 50% or more of customers are unlikely to return to a website that loads slowly or keep them waiting at the checkout.
I am sure you don't want to lose 50% of your potential sales. This is why great website performance is important for an online store. I ran some performance tests on a Shopify website and the results were great.

With Shopify, you can process both digital and physical products. They offer a free app that allows you to set the types for your products.
You can classify your products as digital and process these specific deliveries via email or as a download via the online storage.

The Shopify abandoned cart recovery is designed to help you reach visitors who haven't completed the checkout process.
This feature was previously only available on the higher Shopify plans, but they recently decided to make it available on all plans - an absolutely huge perk for users.
With the contact information provided by customers, the incomplete purchase process is saved as an abandoned checkout.
By default, Shopify sends abandoned cart emails to customers at two specific time intervals. However, you can also customize these settings.
The Cons: Things we don't like about Shopify
1- Customize the theme with your own PHP language
The Shopify platform uses its self-developed PHP language "Fluid".
All topics are coded in this format. This makes customizing designs difficult unless you know how to code in Liquid or you are willing to hire a developer who knows how to code Shopify designs.
Several Shopify reviews from developers mention that Liquid is an easy language to learn, but personally, I don't feel comfortable playing around with the code.
If you don't want to work on any core topics, you can safely stick to the ready-made files.
Alternatively, you can opt for a premium, assisted theme instead to avoid coding issues.
2. Advanced features at a higher price
The Shopify Basic plan offers only the fewest features that you would need to run an online store.
Advanced features such as reports, fraud analysis, gift cards and real-time shipping costs are only available for higher-level tariffs.
3. Apps have their price
While you can get many useful add-ons in the Shopify app market, many of them aren't free.
For example, the End Deals app is $ 9.99 / month and Intuit QuickBooks is $ 29.99 / month. You may have to pay an additional $ 15 per month if you need the Retarget app. While these apps offer great features, using all of these apps will definitely add to your overall cost.
However, if a particular paid app can help you save time or reduce the effort in your workflow, it can be a worthwhile investment. Choose your apps carefully and choose the ones that can help you in your day-to-day business.
4. No email hosting
Shopify doesn't offer you email hosting although web hosting is included in all Shopify plans. This means you cannot host a domain based email address like [email protected]
You can set up email forwarding. This makes it so that whenever someone reaches for something [email protected], the email is automatically forwarded to your regular email account like Gmail or Yahoo! The same applies to answering e-mails.
To use the email forwarding feature, you'll need to set up a third-party email hosting connection before you can reply from your own email account.

Since Shopify is meant to be a fast ecommerce site builder, the costs involved are also higher than the average web hosting or site builder based platform. For most people, their mainstream plans are exactly what to look out for, and there are three flavors of them.
