How can I be like Dumbledore

Misunderstanding about Aurelius Dumbledore: "Fantastic Beasts 2" reveal confused even the star

Warning, the following message contains spoilers for "Fantastic Beasts: Grindelwald's Crimes"!

For "Harry Potter" fans it is the most shocking revelation in a film full of shocking revelations: In "Fantastic Beasts 2" Credence Barebone (Ezra Miller) is all the time searching for his true identity. After Leta Lestrange (Zoe Kravitz) reveals in an emotional scene that he is not a scion of her family (which has long been considered the most likely break-up among fans), it is the villain Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp), of all people, who finally reveals him : Credence ‘real name is Aurelius Dumbledore and he is the brother of the later Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore.

We have already dealt with the question of whether this revelation is actually true elsewhere. Just this much: a master of deception and seduction like Grindelwald should never be trusted completely. But it is especially interesting how Credence and Aurelius actor Ezra Miller found out about this revelation. Like Miller to me IGN revealed, there was initially a big misunderstanding. Here you can watch the video of the really amusing anecdote:

At that time he was on a press tour for "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them", Miller says in the video. During this tour, "Beasts" producer David Heyman came up to him and told him that he was playing Dumbledore's brother. Because at that time there was only one brother of Dumbledore in the "Harry Potter" canon, namely the Aberforth Dumbledore played in "The Deathly Hallows - Part 2" by Ciarán Hinds, Miller assumed that he would then play the young Aberforth will. But that would raise numerous questions, such as why his character suddenly has blue eyes in old age and speaks with a British accent.

Heyman also didn't know that Miller was supposed to play another Dumbledore brother, and the conversation also took place in a noisy tour bus, as Miller says. Finally, J.K. Rowling himself, whom the highly confused Miller asked for help some time later: “You are not playing Aberforth. You play Aurelius ", she explained and added:" Nobody but me and now you know about him, darling. "He then passed out and woke up four days later with a tentacle on his face that grew out of his ear and eye . It is doubtful whether the last part of the story happened like this ...

"Fantastic Beasts 2" has been running very successfully in German cinemas since November 15, 2018. Whether the revelation about Credence is the truth, we will probably find out in the upcoming "Beasts" films, which are planned for 2020, 2022 and 2024.
