Stiftung Warentest is testing 20 attractive smartphone models

Stiftung Warentest took a close look at 77 smartphones and presented a detailed comparison of 20 hit models. Among other things, the camera, the display and the stability were tested, and a fair device with a replaceable battery is also represented. As a "price breaker", the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite convinces with an overall rating of "good" and a price of around 300 euros. In the 5G class, three Samsung smartphones (grade 1.8) also score points: Galaxy Note 20 5G, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G and Galaxy S20 5G.

Connect tested 4 smartphones

The Connect editorial team compared four smartphones with each other. The devices were tested in the categories of system, display, connectivity and camera, among others. With an overall rating of 393/500 points, the TCL Plex emerged from the race as the test winner. The Motorola Moto G9 Plus took second place with an excellent 382/500 points. Both models convinced with their appealing design and the solid battery. The Honor 9X landed in third place.

11 smartphones up to 120 euros in the test

In the November issue of CHIP (12/2019), 11 entry-level smartphones up to 120 euros were examined. No high technology is to be expected at this price, but the top 3 in particular are not doing so badly. The pole position is taken by the Xiaomi Redmi 7. The cell phone had the best performance in the test field, and the battery also lasted the longest. Even the display does well against the competition. Second place goes to the Wiko Y80. This smartphone also offers a long-lasting battery and a good display. The Nokia 5.1, on the other hand, takes third place and is equal to the Wiko in terms of screen quality.


Curved tests two smartphones

Curved compares the Samsung Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A50 in terms of design and performance. Both products convince with a price in the middle segment and good quality in terms of workmanship. According to Curved.de, there are hardly any differences. The test shows that the Samsung Galaxy A70 does slightly better because the battery life is more powerful and the resolution of the camera is higher. At 6.7 inches, the device allows more entertainment in comparison. For small hands, however, it is a good idea to choose the 6.4-inch Samsung Galaxy A50.

The editorial team Check! tested five smartphones in a large photography comparison test. The main and front cameras were extensively checked. The test victory with excellent 96/100 points was secured by the Huawei Mate 20 Pro with its excellent camera, which delivers top image quality. Second place with very good 92/100 points is shared by three of the tested models: the Apple iPhone XS Max, the Google Pixel 3XL and the OnePlus 6T, which also won the price / performance ratio. The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus landed just behind with just one point less.

Connect magazine tests and compares five mid-range smartphones. The Wiko View 3 Pro took first place. The French manufacturer particularly shines with the performance of the triple camera. The Motorola One Vision just missed the top and thus landed in second place, which scores with its powerful chip, Android One and an equally good dual camera. The last place on the podium is secured by the Huawei P smart Z, which impresses with solid equipment and the innovative pop-up camera.

Smartphones have long since ceased to be used for making phone calls, the small computers in your pocket can do so much more. In the 08/2019 edition of CHIP, 19 premium models were tested. The best multifunctional phone with a touchscreen is the Samsung Galaxy S10 + in this group test. It has the highest quality display, a strong camera, and a lot of performance. The little brother, the Samsung Galaxy S10, lands just behind in second place. The equipment and display are convincing here too, and the camera is even a tad better than the S10 +. The Huawei P30 Pro follows the two Samsung in third place. The smartphone achieved a 1.0 in the camera rating, and otherwise it doesn't have to hide from the competitors in front of it.
