How is the training in TCS Chennai

FRANKFURT, June 24, 2019: The IT consulting company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is introducing the “Grow @ TCS” trainee program for young professionals across Europe. The participants gain insights into career opportunities in IT consulting. The Indian company has been offering the program in Germany since 2017. Graduates from the Netherlands and Hungary have also been taking part since last year.

According to the industry association Bitkom, there are 82,000 vacancies for IT specialists in Germany. Across Europe, the demand for employees with digital skills is increasing by around four percent annually [1]. However, there is a lack of qualified specialists to fill the growing number of vacancies in all industries: Too few graduates with the required skills are available on the job market. In addition, employees from the baby boom cohorts are gradually retiring. For example, 40 percent of employers in Europe have difficulties filling positions in information and telecommunications technology (ICT). [2]

TCS launched the IT Futures program back in 2013 to counteract the gap in digital skills. The Grow @ TCS trainee program builds on this initiative and offers graduates from Europe the opportunity to expand their professional and economic skills through practical experience. At the same time, they help companies use digital technologies.

Grow @ TCS is divided into three phases and begins in the respective home country with an induction, which includes workshops on soft skills and cross-cultural work. The trainees then travel to India, where they complete customer and industry-specific training courses and gain practical experience at the TCS locations in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi and Trivandrum. After returning to their home countries, the participants work for customers from various European countries. During the program, the trainees gain insights into international cooperation and are continuously supported by mentors and colleagues.

“Since its introduction in Germany in 2017, Grow @ TCS has developed an impressive dynamic. After expanding to two more European countries in 2018, we are now proud to introduce it across Europe, ”says Frank Karcher, Head of Human Resources at TCS Germany. “The special thing about this program is the range of intercultural experiences. The trainees get to know Indian society and business culture and, in return, give their colleagues in India a better understanding of European culture. This exchange creates added value for everyone - our trainees, our employees and our customers. "

Sapthagiri Chapalapalli, Managing Director TCS Germany, adds: “Grow @ TCS offers graduates a valuable opportunity to gain professional experience in dealing with the latest digital technologies. Conversely, the program allows us to expand our team to support customers with technology and digital projects. "

“Grow @ TCS was a great opportunity for me to gain work experience in an international environment. Thanks to working with such a culturally diverse group of colleagues, every day was an opportunity to gain new insights into work and develop new skills, ”says Alexander Dababi, TCS Analyst Trainee.

The Grow @ TCS 2019 program starts on September 1st and is open to graduates in relevant fields. Applicants should have a keen interest in digital technologies, a willingness to learn and strong communication skills, as well as initial practical experience, ideally in the IT area. The application deadline is July 15, 2019.
